So.. I got sucked into the AKB48 rabbit hole because of Produce 48. I was just wondering, all of the cards in the pictures come from the CD right? And are they an expensive group to collect?

tintedrhythmI'm not sure when the CD photos started but you get 1 photo in regular editions of the album, might be first press only, I'm not 100% sure. You get a handshake ticket in the limited editions.Every release also have a theatre photo. I believe theatre photo are released in random packs and therefore you don't know which members you are going to get. As well as releasing theatre photos with releases they also release new ones every month and every DVD and concert etc CD photos or 'raw photos' are more expensive than theatre photo. You can very easily buy theatre photos for a dollar but I would say on average about $5 but for some releases for some members they can go into the late 20s early 30s. I think the more in demand a photo is the more expensive it will be. CD photos again you can find them for a few dollars but they also can go much higher to 40s, 50s. The biggest problem with CD photos isn't necessary the cost but they are often hard to find for sale and much harder to collect.

lunakitten Thank you! It's really overwhelming how much photos are there even though some are really really cheap. I'm thinking of collecting Takeuchi Miyu since she's my Japanese bias in PD48 (I also wanted to collect Kojiharu and Okada Nana but they seem expensive and have a lot of photos, so nope lol) I'm debating if I should just focus on CD photos or throw in some theatre photos (not including the monthly ones), is there a difference on the quality of the photos?

I honestly don't know if there is a difference but I don't think there is. I believe older photos aren't the best quality but some of them are 10 years old. Miyu should be easy enough to get since she isn't that popular again it's just finding them. Also she doesn't have that many CD photos. Not everyone gets a CD photo in each release and Miyu only has 5 from what I can find. I also don't believe she has any in the albums but I'm not sure how photos work for them but I haven't found her photos for any of the albums. So she has these 5 Manatsu no Sounds Good from that single Tsugi no Season from UZA Eien Pressure from that single Better from HigH Tension Atarashii Chime from Teacher Teacher And doing a quick fromjapan search I found 4/5. So Miyu is much easier then Kojiharu or Nana who can have 3 photos in just one single. |
