Binder: are essentially three-ring binders that hold plastic pages that are specially customized to hold photocards cards. one of the best ways to store and display your trading card collection,as they provide easy access to your collection. Also can be called a folder.

Box Set: collections of more than one CD, often packaged in something other than a standard jewel case. the quality of a box set is usually judged by the inclusion of rare and unreleased material, biographical information, photos, and video footage.

Clear file (or L file/L folder): a folder for papers. they are made of thin but durable clear plastic with an image on them. they usually, if not always, open on the top and the side while the bottom and the other side are sealed. clear files are rare and normally given out for a limited time at promotions

Deluxe Edition: often contain bonus material in the form of extra recordings or video footage.
Digipack: typically consist of a gatefold (book-style) paperboard or card stock outer binding, with one or more plastic trays capable of holding a CD or DVD attached to the inside. although less vulnerable to cracking than a jewel case, the disc tray inside the package (particularly the "teeth" of the hub which secure the disc in place) remains rather brittle and is prone to cracking if the package is crushed. often used for CD singles or special editions of CD albums and the tall DVD Digipak (DVDigipak) is used as a premium package for DVDs and DVD sets.

Extended Play: EPs are CDs with a total playing time greater than that of a single but less than that of a full CD.
External Bonus: first press items included outside of the item's packaging such as posters and photobooks.

Fake photocards: on this forum, the term fake photocards is used to define album photocards that where printed WITHOUT the permission of the printing company. Sellers of fake photocards typically try to pass off the cards as real, legitimate cards. Fake photocards are poorer quality than originals, and generally thicker. NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH FANMADE CARDS.
Fanmade Cards: unofficial cards made by numerous fans and ebay sellers. There are often the same size as regular album cards. They can have random pictures on them but most are in sets from a photoshoot or from a particular era. They can also be matte, semi matte or glossy. Some sellers and traders will include these cards are freebies or extras.
Fansite photobook: unofficial photobooks compiled by the numerous artist fansites with fantaken photos of events and sometimes of airport fashion. Often are of equal or better quality than the official photobooks. May also contain fanmade goods such as mousepads and posters.
First Press (初回盤): discs made with the first stamping disc created from the master disc are called first pressings. when the first stamping disc is considered worn out a second disc is made from the master. discs made from this are second pressings, and so it goes. the more discs created from the master the more the master is worn leading to a sonic deterioration.

Game card: can also be known as a "bingo card"; game cards are typically included in most boxes of star collection cards, and usually involve you collecting more game cards to complete a type of puzzle on the back of one game card. Completing a game card typically results in the winning of prizes. Not all artists with star collection cards have game cards in their boxes.

Nibble Bidder: nibble bidders are bidders who usually bid on auctions days before it ends and prefer to bid in small increments many times, following the bidding - bid by bid. They are the bidders who are usually inexperienced when it comes to ebay and usually are the ones who cause bidding wars on a item and therefore cause the price to rocket.
Normal cards: see also 'star cards'; normal cards (also known as "base cards") are common cards found in star collection card boxes.

OBI strip: the small piece of paper included with a CD or LP usually wrapped around the left hand spine of the item. it provides information(mostly in Japanese) about the item being sold. to non-Japanese reading buyers, the dates on the obi provide an indication of when the item was made or became available.

Penny sleeve: individual plastic card sleeves used to store your cards. typically available in packs of 100 and cost roughly one cent per sleeve. ideal for most cards up to 60 pt thickness and can be used alone or with a toploader. (see 'toploader') as far as trading card supplies go, penny sleeves are essential.
Photobook: (for the fansite good, see 'fansite photobook') official book of concept related photos that usually comes with the cd or dvd of an artist. size and page amount varies. this is very commonly included for kpop releases.
Pocket pages: Usually a clear page in your binder consisting of 9 pockets which your cards fit into. Can also consist of 2, 3, 4, 6 and 8 pockets. Standard pockets that people use are 9 pocket pages for small regular album cards, 2, 3 or 4 pockets for postcards and larger/ jacket cards.
Pocket sleeves: see 'penny sleeve'
Polaroid photocard: a photocard made to look like a photo taken with a Polaroid camera. though the quality of polariods is not as good as conventional film, it is used where it is desirable for snapshots to be seen immediately.

Press: item was manufactured with the intention of distribution in specific area. different presses may differ in item content. ex. Korean press, Japanese press, Chinese press.
Preorder special: bonus included only with preordered items.
Promo CD: an audio or video recording distributed for free in order to promote a recording and is sent directly to broadcasters, such as music radio and television stations in advance of the official release.
they are often distributed in plain packaging, without the text or artwork that appears on the commercial version. typically a promo is marked with a coloured dot sticker. because promos are produced in smaller quantity than releases made available to the general public, they are sometimes considered valuable collectors' items. they are never intended for sale in stores. they have a "bimae/비매" silver sticker on it and the managers' phone numbers may also be printed onto the album.

Types of rares include, but are not limited to: holographic rares, signature rares, name foil rares, foil rares, and polaroid rares. Types of rares available differ between sets. Each star card box typically comes with 1 rare card in each pack of cards. Some star card sets, for example SNSD star cards, have cards that have actually been autographed by the artist. These cards were typically only printed a limited number of times (probably around 5-10 times), therefore, finding them is extremely difficult, and they are extremely valuable and rare. These "signature" cards typically differ from "foil cards" and "name foil cards", as they are hand-signed and not printed autographs.

SACD: Super Audio CDs offer much higher fidelity than regular compact discs, containing up to four times the musical information. SACDs will not play in traditional CD players, but SACD players are able to play both SACDs and CDs.

Snipe bidding: the practice, in a timed online auction, of placing a higher bid than the current highest public bid at the last possible moment (often seconds before the end of the auction), giving the other bidders no time to outbid the sniper. This can be done manually, or by software. The software can run on the bidder's computer or on an online sniping service accessible through a website. Use of an online service is said to decrease the failure rate of the snipe, because the website has more reliable servers and a faster Internet connection with a less variable delay in sending data (jitter), thus enabling the bid to be placed closer to the deadline, even arriving within the last second.
Snipe bidder: a person, or software agent, which performs auction sniping. (see 'snipe bidding')

Specks: small outward paper rips on a photocard. usually on the four corners or sides. these specks are made by a machine that separates the photocards from the printing paper. having specks ensures your card is real.
Star cards: also known as "star collection cards"; official cards released by a company (typically through another printing company). These cards typically come in boxes that include, on average, 10 packs of cards. Each pack can contain a number of cards, the average being 5 cards + a game card (games vary depending on the group involved, but completing a a game card usually results in prizes being won). These sets can have anywhere from 50 to over 400 cards in a complete set, consisting of both "rare" cards (holographic or signature; types of rares vary by group/boxes) and "normal" (also referred to as "base") cards. Boxes typically contain duplicate cards, and each pack typically contains one type of "rare" card. MOST star cards are branded with a small silver square near the number of the card (the exception being Super Junior Star Cards, which only have a number).

Top loader: a hard plastic holder used to protect a card from bending, tearing, edge and corner damage. it allows the card to be slid in from the top, it is usually used in combination with a soft/penny sleeve. (see 'penny sleeve')
Tracking(registered mail): tracked mail that has a number and bar code which can be scanned. very safe way to send an item as item whereabouts can be traced online.
